High Carbon/Graphite High Spped Steel Rolling Rolls usually short as HCHSS Rolls,Because of the advantages of excellent wear resistance, good accident resistance and roll shape retention ability, high speed steel roll has been widely used in the front stand of hot strip mill. However, in the finishing stand, due to the rolls lack of graphite in the matrix structure, so the strip surface quality is difficult to guarantee and the accident loss is large, so the ICDP roll is still the only material for finished stand. But the wear resistance of ICDP rolls is much lower than HSS rolls, which has seriously restricted the improvement of production efficiency of rolling mill.

So the high carbon high speed steel(HC-HSS)roll was invented, which has the similar wear resistance of high speed steel and even get better surface quality than ICDP rolls. It can be directly used on the HSM or CSP  finishing stand without any adjustment to the rolling mill.
